Most of the county follows Chisago Lakes Area Schools (spring break March 8 to 12, 2027). North Branch Area Public Schools take spring break March 22 to 26, 2027. All dates below are for the 2026 to 2027 school year.

The last day of school. Early June is a sweet spot for family trips before peak summer prices.
Dates are from the district’s published 2026 to 2027 calendar: Chisago Lakes Area Schools calendar, North Branch Area Public Schools calendar. Calendars can change, so I always confirm your dates before booking. Rush City Public Schools publish their own calendar. Not tied to the school calendar? Plenty of families travel outside school breaks, and I will tell you when the quieter weeks are worth it.

Good to know before you go
- From Center City, MSP Airport is about 52 miles away by US 8 and I-35, roughly an hour without traffic.
- Chisago City, Center City, Lindstrom, Shafer and Taylors Falls follow the Chisago Lakes calendar. Rush City and Harris have their own or split districts, so tell me your school.
- Interstate State Park and Wild River State Park are right here for weekend adventures between bigger trips.
