Stacy began as a railroad town called Middle Branch, named for the middle branch of the Sunrise River, and today it sits right on I-35, about 47 miles from MSP Airport. That makes it an easy place to start a trip from.
Most of Stacy is in the North Branch school district, and parts are served by Chisago Lakes and Forest Lake, so I plan around whichever calendar your kids follow.

Most Stacy families follow the North Branch Area Public Schools calendar. If your kids attend Chisago Lakes or Forest Lake schools, your spring break is earlier: March 8 to 12, 2027. All dates below are for the 2026 to 2027 school year.

Calendars can change, so I always confirm your dates before booking. Not tied to the school calendar? Plenty of families travel outside school breaks, and I will tell you when the quieter weeks are worth it.

Good to know before you go
- MSP Airport is about 47 miles south on I-35, roughly 50 minutes without traffic.
- Stacy is split between three school districts (North Branch, Chisago Lakes and Forest Lake), and their spring breaks fall on different weeks. Tell me which school your kids attend.
- Parking near the airport, or a hotel the night before an early flight out, can make the first morning far calmer. I plan that in.
